Cultivating Emotional Balance
Cultivating Emotional Balance (CEB) is a research validated educational program designed to increase happiness within yourself and in relationship to others. CEB integrates modern psychology, emotion science and evidence based contemplative practices into an educational program for learning and practice. CEB will help you ease emotional distress, build healthy emotional boundaries and support living a more a compassionate and balanced life, while avoiding burnout.
CEB is a 6 week course for people who are dealing with the difficulties of a loved ones addictions, anxiety and/or depression. Classes are taught by certified CEB teachers who have experience with these issues and understand the emotional challenges firsthand. Participants will gain an understanding of emotion science, practice mindfulness & meditation and will have time for sharing and meaningful personal reflection. The course is presented on Zoom providing an opportunity to participate from any location.
CEB starts an the first Friday of April, June, August, October
In March of 2000, the Dalai Lama convened a meeting with behavioral scientists and other scholars at the Mind and Life Institute in Dharamsala, India. The meeting focused on destructive emotions and how these emotions become obstacles for everyday life. Scientists spoke on the psychobiology of destructive emotions, as well as cultural and developmental neuroplasticity and its relevance for modern education. The details of this meeting is described in the book Destructive Emotions by Daniel Goleman.
